LINCOLN CITY — Volunteers and community partners have completed deliveries of holiday gifts to 295 families in Lincoln City and Otis, bringing Christmas cheer to those in need during a longstanding annual tradition.
North Lincoln Fire & Rescue led the toy drive in partnership with the North Lincoln Eagles #2576, which handled sorting and wrapping presents. Additional support came from Les Schwab Tire Center, which assisted with toy collection and provided bags, and North Lincoln Sanitary Service, which helped with deliveries.
Families within the fire district facing financial hardship submitted forms to request gifts, which were hand-delivered to homes.
The program, described by fire officials as one of the most rewarding ways to serve the community beyond emergency response, also includes food assistance in many cases and has been a holiday staple for decades.
Grateful recipients shared thanks for the support, and donations of new, unwrapped toys continue year-round at local businesses and fire stations to prepare for next year’s drive.
