April 24: Non-Injury Crash, US-20 near Milepost 3, Newport, Lincoln County E-CRASH ONLY On 4/24/2026 at approximately 14:01, OSP responded to a report of a crash on US-20 near milepost 3. A tree limb had fallen into the westbound lane of travel and struck the front end of a vehicle. The vehicle sustained minor front-end and roof damage with a cracked windshield and was able to be driven from the scene. OSP was able to clear the limb from the roadway upon arrival and re-open the highway. Driver: Leslie May Vandervoorden, 53.
April 24: DUII Arrest, US-101 near Milepost 143, Newport, Lincoln County On 4/24/2026 Oregon State Police stopped a white Jeep Compass near MP 143 on US-101. The driver was found to be impaired and arrested for DUII (intoxicants and controlled substances). Driver: Cory David Hull, 48, Seal Rock. Passenger: Joelle F. Martinsen, 53, Seal Rock. Vehicle towed.
April 25: Warrant Arrest, NW 101 and North Beaver Creek Road, Lincoln County On 4/25/2026 Oregon State Police stopped a gray Honda CRV near US-101 and N. Beaver Creek Rd. The passenger in the vehicle was found to have a warrant and arrested for parole/probation violation. Driver: Selestin Kimberly Kuuipo Amina, Newport. Arrested: Timothy Jason Jones, Newport.
April 26: DUII, Pursuit and Reckless Driving, US-101 near Mileposts 136–133, Newport area, Lincoln County On 4/26/2026 Oregon State Police initiated a traffic stop with a gray Dodge Charger recklessly driving near MP 136 on US-101 resulting in a pursuit that ended near MP 133 on US-101. The driver was found to be impaired and arrested. Driver: Daniel Eduardo Reyes Portillo, 20, Otis. Charges: attempt to elude fleeing (vehicle), reckless driving, DUII (intoxicants and controlled substances), and four counts of reckless endangering persons. Victims included a 17-year-old juvenile and three other Lincoln City residents. Vehicle towed by Rowley’s Towing.
April 28: Towed Vehicle – Abandoned/Hazard, Highway 18, Lincoln County Tagged vehicle (plate 549FFJ) was towed by Car Care Towing.
April 29: Impound Vehicle, US-101 near Milepost 156, Lincoln County LOG ONLY On 4/29/2026 at approximately 13:03, OSP performed a traffic stop with a black Nissan sedan after observing the vehicle make an improper left hand turn at the intersection of US-101 and SR-34. The driver was found to be driving without an operator’s license or insurance on the vehicle. The vehicle was towed as a 780 impound by Rowley’s Towing. Driver: Cody Lee Middleton, 27.
April 30: Injury Crash, US-20 at SR-229 Intersection (Milepost ~5.5), Lincoln County On 4/30/2026 OSP responded to investigate a two-vehicle injury crash on US Hwy 20 at the SR Hwy 229 intersection. Unit #1 (southbound on SR-229) failed to obey the stop sign and struck the left front of eastbound Unit #2. The driver of Unit #1 and one passenger in Unit #2 were transported by ambulance to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport with non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles towed by Coast Towing. Driver/vehicle owner of Unit #1: Shirley Mae Muschamp, 76, Siletz. Cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
May 2: Commercial Fish Violation, 213 SW Bay Blvd, Newport, Lincoln County Commercial sablefish vessel caught a halibut on sablefish long line gear. When NOAA observer was measuring it, it fell off table and into fish hold. Hold was full of chilled water and sablefish and they were unable to get the halibut out. OSP advised they would get the fish during the offload. Fish was seized and donated to charity. No enforcement action taken. Vessel had observer coverage and electronic monitor on trip. Driver: Robert Yuichi Queenin, 48, Toledo.
May 2: Hit-and-Run Crash with Arrest, US-101 near Milepost 132, Lincoln County On 5/2/2026 Oregon State Police responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a white Ford F-150 and a gray Subaru Outback near MP 132 on US-101. The suspect vehicle was located and Zachary James Thomasson, 31, Newport, was arrested for multiple charges cleared by arrest including reckless driving, DUII (intoxicants and controlled substances), two counts reckless endangering persons (victims: Jamie Lea Hall, 47, and Sierra Leann Hines, 27, both McMinnville), failure to perform duties of driver in collision with property damage, use of stun gun/tear gas/mace, escape II, three counts assault on public safety officers, criminal mischief II, and resisting arrest. Ford towed by Rowley’s Towing.
May 3: Non-Injury Crash, Highway 101 near Milepost 152, Seal Rock, Lincoln County OSP responded to a two-vehicle rear-end crash on Highway 101 near milepost 152. Investigation concluded it was a rear-end collision. No major injuries reported and no citations issued. One vehicle towed by Rowley’s Towing. Drivers: Bruce Edward Hawk, 81, Waldport; Amanda Marie Whitescarver, 48, Portland. Passenger: Andrew Joon Park, 47, Portland.
May 4: Suspicious Vehicle, Fred Taylor Road and SR-229, Siletz, Lincoln County LOG ONLY OSP responded to a reported cold crash on the highway right-of-way on SR-229 near Fred Taylor Rd. The reporting party stated the vehicle appeared to have been in place for twenty years or more and was partially buried. OSP photographed the vehicle and surrounding area. The complainant was informed OSP would not tag the vehicle for removal. OSP will notify the ODOT area manager. Complainant: Chris Janigo.
May 5: Warrant Arrest, Yaquina Bay Crab Dock, Newport, Lincoln County On 5/5/2026 a Fish & Wildlife trooper contacted a crabber at the Yaquina Bay crab dock. The crabber was identified and had an active felony warrant (failure to appear on criminal citation). The crabber was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail. Arrested: Travis M. Smith, 35.
May 5: Towed Vehicle – Abandoned/Hazard, US-101 Northbound Pull-Out near Milepost 132, Lincoln County LOG ONLY On 5/5/2026 at approximately 23:13, OSP tagged a vehicle parked in a northbound pull-out near milepost 132 on US-101 as abandoned after being parked at the location for several days. OSP attempted to locate the registered owner and was unable to contact them. The vehicle (Volkswagen Jetta) was towed as abandoned on 5/7/2026 by Coast Towing. Owner: Rowan Rosog Draiguin, 24.
May 6: Non-Injury Crash, Highway 20 near Milepost 10, Toledo, Lincoln County OSP responded to an overturned semi-truck crash on Highway 20 near milepost 10. The semi-truck was the only involved vehicle and there were no injuries. The trucking company handled the tow and cleanup. Driver: Jagdeep Singh Bajwa, 31, Antelope, California.
May 6: Fish & Wildlife Violation, Tidewater, Lincoln County OSP Fish & Wildlife troopers responded to a report of two otters which had been shot and left to waste. Investigation ongoing. Complainant: Jason M. Kirchner.
May 6: Non-Injury Crash, Highway 101 near Milepost 127, Depoe Bay, Lincoln County OSP responded to a two-vehicle fender bender on Highway 101 near milepost 127 in Depoe Bay. There were no injuries and both vehicles were drivable. Drivers: Timothy Paul Burd, 67, Lebanon (black Chevy); Barbara June Chestler, 69, Lincoln City (white RAM 1500).
May 8: Non-Injury Crash, US-101 and Azalea Lane, Waldport, Lincoln County LOG ONLY On 5/8/2026 at approximately 18:53, OSP responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US-101 and Azalea Lane in Waldport. The driver of a white KIA SUV was travelling westbound on Azalea Ln approaching the stop sign at US-101 when they drove out of the shade and were blinded by the sun. The driver was unable to stop and continued onto US-101, striking a northbound Hyundai on the passenger side. No occupants were injured. Both vehicles towed by Rowley’s Towing. Drivers: Salestina Mangie, 36; Cheryl Wahl, 72.
