DEPOE BAY — The Horn Public House & Brewery is perched over Depoe Bay with panoramic views of the “World’s Smallest Harbor” and the great outer bay itself. But what makes waves in this town are the Horn’s mouthwatering pizzas, known for a thin, crispy crust with that fresh hint of baked-in sweetness you only find in a real pie joint.
The pizzas come in 10 and 16-inch versions, slathered in a spicy red sauce with a score of toppings and artistic combos such as the feisty Little Italy, the game-ending Big Kahuna and the sizzling Four Cheeses. Prices range from $14 to $28.
Beyond great pizza, The Horn has a rock-solid menu of coast favorites: a half-pound burger of grass-fed beef, acclaimed clam chowder, tempura beer-battered fish and chips, a wild-albacore tuna melt and a salmon Greek salad that Homer would have written another timeless poem about are among the excellent offerings. The beer is probably the best craft brew you will ever drink, led by the King Tide IPA — the perfect companion to storm watching from the second-floor bar.
