Lincoln City Relocates Ballot Drop Box Amid Garage Closure

LINCOLN CITY — Lincoln City officials have closed the parking garage beneath Driftwood Public Library and City Hall for maintenance, forcing temporary changes to three public drop boxes.

The Lincoln County official ballot drop site has been moved from inside the garage to the exit access route for the traffic signal, according to a city news release issued Thursday. The Driftwood Public Library book drop and the Utility Billing Payment Drop Box are both temporarily closed.

Library patrons can return books in person during regular hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Questions can be directed to the library at 541-996-2277 or [email protected].

Utility customers can drop off payments at the Finance Department front window on the third floor of City Hall during business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The changes come as Lincoln County prepares to mail ballots for the May 19 primary election, which features multiple candidates for county commissioner seats. The Boiler Bay Beacon will continue its in-depth coverage of the primary and the November general election, including all local races and issues affecting Lincoln City and the coast.

City officials asked for the public’s patience while the maintenance issue is resolved. For more information, contact Kevin Mattias at 541-996-1221 or [email protected].
