DEPOE BAY — Friends and fans of talented singer Michael Dane have set up accounts at Columbia Bank and Go Fund Me to help with medical and living expenses in the wake of his battle with prostate cancer.

Dane, the featured weekend entertainer at Gracie’s Sea Hag lounge for over 30 years, is widely known as the inspirational voice of the National Anthem at the Fleet of Flowers and other important events. A rock-solid community volunteer unimpeded by blindness, he serves as Depoe Bay’s Chief of Emergency Communications.

Laid low by prostate cancer in recent months, Michael is recovering quickly following successful surgery. His progress has been good enough to plan a return to Gracie’s for the annual New Year’s Eve party next month.

Friends of Michael established the accounts to help support he and his family through the lean recovery period. Donations can be dropped off with any teller at Columbia Bank, Depoe Bay branch, or sent via Go Fund Me.
