‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the coast, Not a creature was stirring, not even a ghost. The waves whispered gently on Boiler Bay’s shore, As stockings hung softly by fires evermore.

But in a small room where the warm lamplight glows, Two pairs of fingers dance over keyboards in rows. Typing tales of the tide, of our towns and our sea, For the folks of the coast who mean everything to me.

Here at the Boiler Bay Beacon, as the holiday lights twinkle across Depoe Bay and beyond, we pause to reflect with deep gratitude.

It was just this past September 11, 2025, when we launched this independent news outlet. Born from a passion for honest, community-focused journalism, we’re proud to stand apart—free from corporate chains, committed solely to the truth that matters to you.

We cover the heartbeat of Lincoln County. From local council decisions and coastal wildlife concerns to everyday stories that shape our neighborhoods in Depoe Bay, Newport, Lincoln City, Waldport, and beyond. And we don’t stop at the county line. We also shine a light on statewide Oregon issues that ripple right to our shores.
