The following reports are taken from the Daily Log of the Oregon State Police. All individuals charged with infractions or crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Nov. 19: Non-Injury Crash on US-101 Near Milepost 122 (Southbound), A white Toyota Avalon struck a deer; no injuries reported, owner arranged own tow. Driver and owner John Conway Douglas, 79, of Depoe Bay; complainant, passenger, and vehicle owner Helen Louise Douglas, 77, of Depoe Bay. Officer: Nathan Goodey Brooks.
  • Nov. 19: Non-Injury Crash on SR-229 Near Milepost 28 (Northbound), A blue Honda Civic drove into the ditch to avoid a herd of elk; vehicle towed due to damage by Rowley’s Towing. Driver Shawn Garofalo, 35, of Logsden. Officer: Gavin Moody.
  • Nov. 20: Non-Injury Crash at US-101 and NW 36th St, An on-duty Lincoln City Police Department officer was initiating a traffic stop when the violator vehicle accidentally reversed into the patrol car’s push bumper. Passenger Linda Faye Azar, 83; driver Rudy Gerald Cousins, 76; driver and police officer (outside agency) Timothy Kirk Delugach, 48. Officer: Gavin Moody.
  • Nov. 22: DUII Arrest (Alcohol and Controlled Substances) Near Milepost 139 on US-101,  A silver Nissan Xterra was stopped; driver found impaired and lodged in Lincoln County Jail for DUII (ORS 813.010). Arrested, charged, cited, and suspect Gale Rose Marie Slayton Williams, female, of Newport. Officer: Alexander Munsee.
  • Nov. 23: Non-Injury Crash on SR-229 Near Milepost 1 (Southbound), A black Jeep Patriot struck an elk in the roadway; injured elk put down on scene, vehicle towed by Car Care Tow Pro. Complainant and driver Amiee Elizabeth Lucas, 47, of Siletz. Officer: Nathan Goodey Brooks.
  • Nov. 25: Commercial Fish Violation, Lincoln County FV Turmoil landed canary rockfish over the bimonthly federal trip limit allowances for March/April and May/June. Officer: Heather Van Meter.
