The following reports are taken from the Daily Log of the Oregon State Police. All individuals charged with infractions or crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Oct. 29: Non-Injury Crash on US-101 Near Milepost 163, Yachats A bronze Chevy Equinox struck a bear; occupants reported no injuries and arranged a tow through insurance. Driver Joanne F. Zielinski, 58, of Dallas. Officer: Alexander Munsee.
  • Oct. 30: Environmental Complaint in Waldport EPA reported a citizen concern about the City of Waldport illegally dumping debris into a creek behind a residence, raising health and environmental impact issues. Complainant Theresa Elizabeth Carter, 66. Officer: Cassandra Bantz.
  • Oct. 30: Citation for Driving While Suspended at US-101 and SR-229 Near Toledo Vehicle stopped for traffic violation; driver cited and released, vehicle towed by Car Care. Citation to Cayden Edmones, 21. Officer: David Peterson.
  • Oct. 31: Injury Crash on US-101 Near Milepost 148 and SE 148th St, Seal Rock A white Chevy Silverado crashed; Seal Rock Fire assisted extrication, driver transported to hospital for evaluation, vehicle towed by Rowley’s. Officer: Alexander Munsee.
  • Nov. 2: DUII Arrest (Alcohol) on SR-18 Near Milepost 6 (Eastbound) Single-vehicle crash into embankment reported by passing driver; investigation found impairment, leading to arrest for DUII (ORS 813.010). Arrested Jordan Lee Combs, 28, of Grand Ronde; witness Daniel Lee Clanton, 50, of Otis; mentioned Kelli Lee Stockwell, 46, of Grand Ronde; vehicle (white Chevy Cavalier) towed by Car Care. Officer: Gavin Moody.
  • Nov. 2: Non-Injury Crash at US-101 and SR-18 Interchange Near Lincoln City A white Lexus ES 350 sedan struck an elk; no injuries reported, driver arranged own tow. Driver and owner Christopher Matthew Hahn, 50, of Salem. Officer: Nathan Goodey Brooks.
  • Nov. 2: Injury Crash on SR-18 Near Milepost 6 (Eastbound) A gray Dodge Durango SUV drove onto shoulder and struck multiple ODOT fixtures; driver transported to McMinnville hospital by family, later cited at residence. Citation to driver and owner Joseph Paul Phelp, 44, of McMinnville. Assisted by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and McMinnville PD. Officer: Nathan Goodey Brooks.
  • Nov. 2: Trespassing Incident at 227 NE 12th St, Newport OSP assisted Newport PD with a trespass call; Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office on scene. Suspect Brandin L. Lewis, 43, of Newport. Officer: Nathan Goodey Brooks.
  • Nov. 3: Disorderly Conduct Arrest Assistance at 185 SW Maple St, Waldport Log only OSP assisted Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office with arrest of disorderly suspect. Suspect Cassandra Jo Funk, 35, of Denver, Colorado. Officer: Nathan Goodey Brooks.
  • Nov. 4: Non-Injury Crash on US-20 Near Milepost 28 (Westbound) A red 2006 Honda Element pulling a boat trailer swerved to miss an elk, slid off roadway, struck utility pole, and overturned; driver and passenger denied injuries and refused medics, vehicles recovered by Bob’s Towing from Corvallis; Consumer Power Inc. assessed pole damage. Driver Joseph Lamar Ebersole, 58; passenger Jefferson Miles Spicher, 58. Officer: Kelly Katsikis.
  • Nov. 5: Abandoned Vehicle Tow on SR-18 Near Milepost 6 (Eastbound) Gray Dodge Durango from Nov. 2 injury crash remained at scene despite tag; towed by Menefee Welding Repair and Towing. Officer: Gavin Moody.
