LINCOLN CITY — On Tuesday, Sept. 16, embattled District Attorney Jenna Wallace will talk about her efforts to fight crime, deal justice to wrongdoers and protect citizens of Lincoln County — all while engaging in a draining battle with powerful forces in the county’s deep state.

Wallace is expected to report on crime figures and explain the innerworkings of her independent office during the monthly meeting of the Hilltop Patriots at the Old Taft Fire Hall at 1206 SE 48th Place. The meeting starts at noon.

Wallace was appointed to the district attorney position following the resignation in June 2024 by Lanee Danforth. Wallace had already defeated an opponent in a primary race and was scheduled to take the post, anyway. Instead of an easy transition, she faced a fight over funding with the county commission — in particular Commissioner Claire Hall, who appears determined to run the DA’s office by manipulating purse strings and allegedly reading Wallace’s e-mails. Hall claimed it is the soft-spoken DA “who has threatened us.”
