Two suspects were arrested early Friday after a concerned citizen reported them cutting electric vehicle chargers at the Lincoln City Outlet Mall, the Lincoln City Police Department said.
Around 1:00 a.m. on July 31, the citizen saw subjects actively cutting the chargers and immediately notified police. Officers surrounded the mall and stopped the suspects as they tried to leave in a blue Honda Ridgeline. Both were taken into custody without further incident.
A search warrant was obtained and executed. Officers recovered more than two dozen heavy-duty electric vehicle charging cables along with a list of targets across Lincoln and Marion Counties.
The suspects were lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Criminal Conspiracy, Theft in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Fentanyl.
