Lincoln County’s high school athletes finally have a dedicated home online.
The Boiler Bay Beacon Sports Desk is now live:
It’s built to cover every high school program in the county, from the Taft Tigers to the Newport Cubs, Waldport Irish, Toledo Boomers, Eddyville Eagles, and Siletz Valley Warriors.
Parents, fans, and coaches can sort by team, check schedules, see final scores, and find the extras: coaches’ comments, standout performances, and game notes. Sending in photos (looking at you Lon French) can make the page and your teams stand out.
The goal is simple. One clean place to follow the local kids instead of hunting across scattered social media posts and delayed updates.
Coaches are already invited to help fill it out. Send quotes, notes, photos, and highlights. A quick example of the kind of submission that works: “Smith: 18 pts, 9 reb. Taft wins 56-42. Coach: “Loved the player’s intensity…” Drop those details our way and they can go live.
The Sports Desk is still growing. Schedules and results will update as the seasons roll, and the more coaches and athletic directors feed it, the sharper it gets. Football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, wrestling, track, and the rest of the calendar all belong here.
